William Trattler, MD Miami, FL
Dr. William Trattler is the Director of Cornea at the Miami Center for Excellence in Eye Care and also takes time to volunteer at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and Florida International University College of Medicine. A graduate of the University of Miami School of Medicine, Dr. Trattler did his ophthalmology residency at the University of Pennsylvania, Scheie Eye Institute, and completed a subspecialty in cornea and refractive at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas.
Dr. Trattler has participated in numerous FDA studies, both pharmaceutical and device related, ranging from dry eye and blepharitis, to refractive and cataract surgery; including the latest technologies in corneal collagen crosslinking and intraoperative wavefront aberrometry during cataract surgery. At ASCRS 2009, Dr. Trattler was awarded Best Paper of Session for his research on accommodating intraocular lenses. An author of many books and articles, Dr. Trattler received the "Outstanding Young Ophthalmologist Leadership Award" from the Florida Society of Ophthalmology in 2002, and is currently the Medical Editor for Eye Tube, and Chief Medical Editor of Advanced Ocular Care.
